Vayda the Escape Dog: A Wild Adventure on Brynlee’s Birthday
Some days are unforgettable—some because of the love and joy they bring, and others because they involve your dog pulling off the greatest escape since Houdini.
Yesterday was one of those days.
It started as a normal day at Lake Escape, but little did we know our dog, Vayda (forever known now as “Vayda the Escape Dog”), had other plans. With the skill of a seasoned escape artist, she managed to slip out unnoticed, embarking on an adventure that would leave us all in shock.
Vayda didn’t just take a casual stroll—oh no, she toured the entire neighborhood, chased birds, stopped traffic, and even had a terrifyingly close call with a car. We were scrambling, running, yelling, and probably looking like a scene out of a slapstick comedy while trying to catch her.
And, of course, all of this happened on our eldest daughter Brynlee’s 11th birthday.
Because why wouldn’t it?
Between the panic and the adrenaline, I couldn’t help but reflect on two things:
1. I am so grateful we still have our wild escape dog, Vayda, safe and sound.
2. I am even more grateful for Brynlee, a beautiful, kind, and loving young lady who is growing into someone truly special.
It’s funny how life works. One moment you’re celebrating a birthday, and the next, you’re chasing a rogue dog through the streets. But in the end, it’s all part of the adventure, the memories, and the moments that make life so incredible.
And so sorry for the people risking their own lives that swerved, and thankful! You saved my adrenaline junkie pups life, my daughter’s birthday, and more memories with the thug life pup! Thank you!!
So, happy birthday, Brynlee! And Vayda… please, let’s not do this again.
